Attitude of Love

Last Monday something marvelous and almost magical happened in a small diner in Philadelphia. It started with a young couple paying for their meal, and then asking to pay for another couples dinner as well. The unusual thing was they didnt even know the couple, had not spoken to them, and asked that the cashier simply tell them their meal was paid for and to have a Merry Christmas. I know: it is such a wonderful story. However, that is not really the story. Remember I said ‌it started‍ with paying for the meal. The double ‌m‍ part (marvelous and magical) was that it continued for five hours. One after another as they learned someone had the heart to give, they in turn gave and paid for someone elses meal. ‌I had tears in my eyes because it never happened before. Ive been here for 10 years and Ive never seen anything like that,‍ said, Lynn Willard, a waitress at the eatery. The diners manager said, ‌Not one person was concerned about price of the check -- which averaged between twelve to thirty dollars. Those who took the check also tipped the waitress. So nobody had to do anything other than pass it on and thats what they did. They just passed it forward.‍What a great example of love and giving. This season people are drawn to look at the greatest act of love and giving known to man: God loving mankind so much that He gave Jesus as the sacrifice for sins. When we witness the extent of Gods love for us it makes it easier to love others and give of ourselves as the Lord did for us. Is it just the season? Could it remain for each season, for each day, forever? It does with Gods divine love, and He said for us to love each other as loves us. Lets carry this attitude of love to everyone throughout the year.
